A Residential Apartment Block requiring a Fire Sprinkler Service in Exeter, Devon.
The Challenge
Our block management client in Exeter required an up-to-date service record and inspection of an existing Residential Fire Sprinkler System.
The Solution
During the Fire Sprinkler Service for this apartment block in Exeter, we visited the site and carried out a flow test of the existing water supply, discovering that the town’s mains pressure and flow were no longer adequate.
We inspected all flats where possible and found several sprinkler heads with missing cover plates, while others were contaminated with paint. Following our inspection, we compiled a concise report and called the client immediately to inform them that the sprinkler system was not operating as originally designed and required further investigation. We also advised that a new dedicated pump and tank arrangement for the water supply from the existing town main connection was likely to be required.
The Results
This Fire Sprinkler Service was completed to BS 9251 specifications, to Category 1 for Service and Inspection of a System.
