A Commercial Fire Sprinkler System Installation in Torquay, Devon, for Bon Ella Apartments.
The Challenge
Our contract was to provide a new automatic Fire Sprinkler System Installation for a car park that fell outside the parameters of BS 9251, serving the client’s new-build residential apartments in Torquay, Devon. We were contacted on 1st February and advised the client on various water supply options and system components.
The Solution
Once instructed, we carried out a survey of the existing services and completed the designs for Building Control approval and prefabrication within seven days. Advice and ongoing support regarding water supply connections, drainage, alarm connections, trace heating, and lagging were provided as part of the service. Handover to the client took place in April, in time for the grand opening of the luxury apartments.
The Results
This Fire Sprinkler System Installation was completed in accordance with BS EN 12845 – Ordinary Hazard Group 2 + Annex F specifications, with a new water supply from 100mm underground mains connections – Superior Single Town Main saving the developer over £100,000 in not having to install a dedicated twin fire pump and water storage tank.
